2.0 Ethics Credit Hours      

 

This class is currently not available for credit in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Carolina   This new class explores the ethical duties of lawyers to understand and use technology in their law practice.  This has become a growing issue across the country, especially with the recent changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the emphasis on proportionate and relevant e-discovery.  The class will discuss Comment 6 to the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct stating that lawyers should keep up with changes in the law and its practice, "including the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology.”  From metadata to electronically stored information (ESI), find out how much of the technology you need to know.         (A pre-recorded replay of the 4/14/16 class)
